Zara Larsson Has the Most Wholesome Reaction as Fans Turn Into Dolphins During ‘Midnight Sun’

Zara Larsson may have just experienced one of the most unexpectedly wholesome fan moments of her career.
During her performance at Pukkelpop in Hasselt, Belgium, on Sunday, August 23, the Swedish pop star was performing “Midnight Sun” when she noticed several fans in the crowd recreating the now-iconic dolphin move associated with her performances.
At first, there were only a few.
Then there were more.
And suddenly, a large section of the audience was doing the move together, turning the crowd into what looked like a sea of dolphins.
Larsson immediately noticed what was happening and completely broke into laughter. She attempted to continue singing, but the sight of fans enthusiastically recreating the choreography became too much, with her reaction making the crowd even more energized.
The result was a rare feedback loop between an artist and her audience: the fans were having fun because they could see how much Zara was enjoying the moment, while Zara was laughing because the audience had effectively turned one of her signature performance moments into a giant crowd participation bit.

The trend paired brightly colored dolphin imagery with the chorus of Clean Bandit’s “Symphony,” featuring Larsson, often creating a deliberately ridiculous contrast between the cheerful visuals and captions about everyday problems or negative emotions.
Larsson herself embraced the phenomenon, posting her own version of the meme and joking about its sudden popularity. The resurgence became significant enough to send “Symphony” to No. 1 on the TikTok Billboard Top 50 seven years after the song’s original release.
The dolphin has since become an unmistakable part of Larsson’s online fan culture.
And at Pukkelpop, that internet joke crossed over into the real world in a particularly chaotic way.
Instead of simply watching Zara perform the move with her dancers, fans began recreating it themselves from within the crowd. Once Larsson reacted, even more people joined in, creating a moment that felt less like a choreographed concert sequence and more like thousands of people collectively deciding to participate in the same inside joke.
That is what makes the footage so special.
